Accounts Assistant

We are currently looking for a Accounts Assistant to join our Logistics Services team here at Tarmac.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an aspiring finance professional who is looking to further develop their knowledge and experience, in a role that will offer exposure across all aspects of accounting fundamentals.

Role Responsibility

Working within the Shared Service Centre and reporting directly to Logistics Services Business Accountant, you will be part of a 5-person team responsible for ensuring Contract Hauliers and company car and vans income & costs are reflected accurately in the P&L and balance sheet.

Responsibilities include

• Month end reporting
• Cost recharges via interface files and manual journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing haulier risk. 
• Deposit and overdue debt collection
• Lease database updates and reconciliations
• Monthly and weekly bacs payments
• SOx controls and compliance

The Ideal Candidate

This is a varied, complex, and rewarding position that requires a strong transactional finance background. Ideally, you will be AAT qualified, or working towards qualification. You will also require:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to prioritise workload and manage own time to meet deadlines
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Interest in understanding the business and how finance process work
• A well thought out approach to tackling problems and the ability to work methodically
