Assistant Engineering Manager

We are currently looking for a Assistant Engineering Manager to join our friendly team at Dunbar.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Assistant Engineering Manager you will be responsible for: 

  •  Monitoring department safety performance and take actions to improve.
    • Develop the engineering team to ensure that the competency is of the correct level to drive engineering performance. 
  •  Support Head of Electrical, Head of Mechanical and Methods Manager  to make correct decision regarding longer-term plant reliability issues.
    • Lead and motivate the engineering team, exhibiting sound diagnostic skills and be committed to continuous improvement, in your personal capacity and for operations in general.
  • Develop long-term strategic plans. 
  • Support and verify annual shutdown planning process.
    • Assist the Engineering Manager to provide engineering knowledge and support to all site project work including the management of weekly and yearly shutdowns and manage contractors in line with the Tarmac standards
  •  Collate and submit annual fixed cost budgets & PIP
    • Areas of responsibility include engineering cost, engineering deliverables and maintenance schedules and driving world class standards of reliability and asset management.

The Ideal Candidate

For the role of Assistant Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role as well as:

  • Qualification in engineering or other relevant experience
  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • IOSH managing safety qualification (desirable)
  • Developed and changed maintenance teams
  • Previously worked in a production environment
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and engineering reliability
