Assistant Site Manager - Manufacturing / Operations

We are currently looking for an Assistant Site Manager - Manufacturing/Operations to join our team based at the Tarmac Linford site in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day  Aircrete manufacturing process. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Leading a team to manufacture Aircrete Blocks 
  • Assisting the site manager in the implementation of production / safety / quality initiatives
  • Manage aspects of daily production ensuring efficient manufacture and optimum levels of OEE are maintained, driving operations performance through KPI’s
  • Manage and planning of on site maintenance via Preventative Maintenance (PPM’s) and ensuring a high standard of workmanship applied by site team
  • General housekeeping; ensuring that the highest standards are maintained in accordance with What Good Looks Like (WGLL) and the CRH Lifesaving rules
  • Role modelling an exemplary approach to Health and Safety, contributing proactively to a safe working environment  and working collaboratively to build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensuring quality compliance by working closely with the QA operative. Support in any QA investigations and implement actions following route cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage area budget and P&L
  • Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed
  • Support the site manager in ensuring full site compliance with legal obligations

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience working as a Production ManagerManufacturing Manager or similar gained within a fast-paced, heavy manufacturing environment with experience in leading a multi-discipline team to safely produce high-quality products efficiently whilst maintaining the plant in excellent working order.

The key to your success will be your exceptional communication skills. As an influential and persuasive leader, you will have a successful track record in managing, developing, motivating and inspiring both direct reports and people in your wider organisation to cultivate strong, engaged and competent teams.

Qualifications:

  • HSE / IOSH Managing Safely Preferable.
