Business Controller (12 month FTC)

Job Introduction

CRH are currently looking for a Business Controller to join the team at the Head Office in Dublin or UK for a period of 12 months to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will

  • Support the Cluster Finance Director in managing the business through regular and ad hoc reporting, reviewing, and monitoring financial results and providing financial (variance) analyses to support decision making
  • Provide support in the business planning and reporting cycles, including follow up on key issues arising
  • Have a strong liaison and influence with Operating Companies within the division on all financial reporting matters and can challenge and support these companies on financial analysis

Role Responsibility

The successful candidate will participate and/or assist in:

  • Preparing consolidated reports, high level commentaries, financial analysis and presentations for key stakeholders as part of the key monthly reporting processes.
  • Providing regular reports, commentary, performance analysis and forecasts, as well as ad hoc updates on request
  • Liaising with Cluster FD, SVP and Operating Company Finance Teams in budget preparation, forecasting, strategic plan preparation, impairment testing and other processes throughout the year.
  • Collation of data for quarterly briefing note and Q&A process, Annual Report and other processes
  • Supporting the performance improvement aspect of the Finance’s role through KPI, performance bridge and other reporting cycles


 

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have relevant experience within a similar working environment along with:

  • Advanced knowledge of reporting, budgeting, and forecasting process
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and validate financial and performance data
  • Drive for results combined with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills, lateral thinking, and ability to make high quality timely decisions
  • Ability and desire to work internationally (open to business travel)
  • Experience using HFM and ExQL an advantage; good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
