Central Purchasing and Expenses Team Leader

We are currently looking for a Central Purchasing and Expense Team Leader to join our team in Solihull. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Role Responsibility
Your main responsibilities in this role will be to:
- Manage P2P Central Purchasing and Expenses Teams
- Ensure all expenses and Credit card transactions are processed and compliant in accordance with the rules of business
- Ensure that all Purchase Orders are raised and completed within the agreed standards and rules of business
- Resolution and reporting of any amendments and queries whilst implementing and adhering to business SLA’s
- Production of tangible and accurate weekly/monthly, (ad hoc) reporting to drive business initiatives and areas of improvements. (T/Card, Credit Card Exposure, IFRS16 etc)
- Responsible for maintaining high levels of data accuracy used within the transactional spend processes
- Maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promote a culture of “Everyone is a customer of P2P”
- Ensure the correct and appropriate policies and procedures are in place and communicated to customers and stakeholders
- Improve and introduce processes and P2P training to relevant stakeholders
- Audit, Review and Implement process reviews and process maps
- Create a highly motivated and cohesive team environment, adopting the 5 Behaviours of Trust, Reducing conflict, Commitment, Accountability and Results
- Review test findings within the Internal/External Audit Team, facilitate the remediation of control gaps, and escalate possible critical issues to the P2P Transactional Services Manager
- Identify areas of potential improvement for key processes and procedures and supports the management of the related processes and procedures
- Maintain continuous knowledge of software solutions in the marketplace, supporting functionality across P2P
- Project Manage/Support any new business initiative in relation to software solution improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Qualifications
- A Level qualification (or equivalent) - preferred
Experience
- Experience of working with SAP in a transactional/operational role
- Experienced in working in a Shared Service/Finance department
- At least 3-5 years consistent development in procurement, procurement systems and specifically SAP procure to pay/P2P
- Excellent understanding of Sarbanes Oxley legislation
- Proven track record of working to tight timelines, critical deliverables and delivering high quality outputs

Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of Purchase to Pay processes
- Knowledge of SAP at a transactional level
- Knowledge of 3rd Party Software within the P2P platform e.g., Concur, Coupa etc Skills
- Good knowledge of SAP and Excel
- Excellent self and task orientated organisation skills
- Fast and Flexible – able to adapt quickly to a changing environment
