Control Room Operator

We are currently looking for an Control Room Operator based in our friendly team at Tunstead.

Role Responsibility

The responsibilities of the Control Room Operator are: 

• Coordinate, monitor and to carry out raw milling, coal/petcoke milling, cement milling, kiln burning, cement despatch, and laboratory duties required for the production of cement material.   

• Meeting the customer's, quality, environmental output requirements in a safe and cost effective manner. 

• Plant operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant.  This may involve night working, weekend and Bank holidays and being on call if necessary. 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:  

• Engineering qualification or other relevant experience and a good understanding of mechanical and electrical processes 

• IOSH  

• Good understanding of chemistry and physics of cement/chemical making processes 

• Relevant experience in cement plant operations or a similar industry 

• Experience in raw milling, pyro-processing and laboratory duties  

• H&S procedures and safe working practices  

• Knowledge and understanding of environmental and quality standards associated with the cement manufacturing process or similar chemical/industrial manufacturing
