Credit Controller

We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our finance team on a Fixed term contract until the end of 2021. Credit control is an essential function which contributes to the overall success of the business and you’ll be managing customer accounts and building relationships to help us to collect cash in a timely manner. This means that we can deliver our cash and debtor targets on a monthly basis.

Role Responsibility

Owning and managing a specific ledger of accounts. This will include managing relationships, following up payments and scheduling payments. We aim to ensure there’s no outstanding payments beyond 30 days.

  • You’ll be collecting cash by telephone and proactively contact customers ahead of payment days to reduce any delays from the payment due date. This also includes allocating payments against the sales ledger.
  • On a daily basis you will liaise with key managers in the business and keep them abreast of any potential developments or problems which may arise from late payment. It’s essential that we understand the relationships with key customers and manage their payments.
  • You will also update all systems and work with the team to look at ways we can continually improve.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be customer focused, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally. On top of this we’re looking for someone who can bring the following attributes:

  • Experience of working within a credit control function.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’ll be preparing emails, reports and customer progress updates for internal and external audiences.
  • You’ll have a positive attitude and enjoy a challenge.
  • The ability to think independently and solve problems which arise will help you to be successful in this role.
