Credit Controller

We are currently looking for a Credit Controller to join our friendly team at our Head Office in Solihull. Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Role Responsibility
The successful candidate within this role will be responsible for:
- Ensuring customers are managed so that cash is collected to terms agreed and accounts operate within approved credit limits
- Using SAP to process/resolve customer invoice queries
- Delivering company cash goals and debtor targets on a monthly basis
- Reporting on debt issues/any escalations
- Providing excellent customer service both to internal and external customers
- Actively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
- Telephone collections, chasing ahead of invoice and application for payment due date
- Being a first point of contact resolution on any customer queries and disputes wherever possible
- Ensuring all invoice queries and disputes are resolved or logged for further investigation within 24 hours of receipt
- Liaising daily with key contacts in the business concerning dispute management and cash collection matters relevant to the region/business unit
- Actively contributing to daily huddle meetings to prioritise work and provide forum to problem solve issues with the team
- Complying with company policy and rules of business
- Providing relevant data and insight with regards status and performance of accounts which are assigned to you
- Ensuring no unallocated cash older than 30 days
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role within ideally a similar industry and they will:
- Prioritise their workload effectively
- Be motivated
- Communicate effectively
- Have experience of working with a variety of stakeholders, i.e. internal customers
- Have drive
- Be structured and organised
- Have a positive attitude
- Have attained CICM qualification which is preferable but not essential
- Work effectively individually and as part of a team
