Development Manager

We are currently looking for a Development Manager to join our Land Development Team at Tarmac. The office location for this role will be Quorn House in Loughborough however the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible within their working location as travel is required. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Head of Development you will be responsible for:

• Leading project teams of technical experts to promote strategic development opportunities through Local Plan and planning application processes, acting as a mentor to the team of Development Surveyors that will support the role
• Working in close liaison with Commercial and Estate Managers, to assist with the management and development of the land and buildings property portfolio, pre and post operational use, to drive best value from the property assets
• Managing the liaison with external managing agents, land and property owners / developers, tenants, consultants and Planning Authorities

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of property management and strategic land processes. You will:

• Have excellent communication and organisational skills
• Have experience of liaising with stakeholders of varying seniority levels both internally and externally
• Be motivated and have a passion for adding value to a property portfolio by developing strategies to change the future use of otherwise underutilised land
• Be flexible

Qualifications

• MRICS / MRTPI qualified this is a unique opportunity to add value to a significant in house controlled property portfolio
