Dispatch Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Despatch Co-ordinator to join our friendly team based at Northfleet.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Despatch Co-ordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Liasing and coordinating on a daily basis with our customers, working closely with our drivers, third party transport contractors and operational staff.
  • Order taking and cement delivery management to a wide range of customers within the region.
  • Efficient scheduling of own fleet vehicles, maximising driver hours availability, to meet agreed KPI targets (operational & financial), whilst maintaining legal and operational compliance.
  • Effective allocation of orders to third party transport partners.
  • Administering system related tasks aligned to Regional distribution operations.
  • Assuming Transport Supervisor responsibilities as and when required.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Despatch Co-ordinator will have experience of:

  • OLAT (essential but can be trained)
  • CPC (desirable but can be trained)
  • IOSH Safety training (desirable but can be trained)
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years Transport Planning experience with a thorough knowledge of the road haulage industry.
  • An excellent opportunity for the right candidate wishing to develop their professional experience in the field of operational management. 
  • Applicants should be able to work independently and make day to day decisions regarding the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
  • Experience of working within a Trade Union Environment (desirable).
