Distribution Planner - Hybrid Working

We are currently looking for an experienced Distribution Coordinator to join our friendly team based at our Washwood Heath Tarmac site in Birmingham supporting large infrastructure projects across the Midlands.  The site is easily accessible via most major road networks, based in the heart of the Midlands on the outskirts of Birmingham and without entering the new ‘Green Zone’. 

The plant is easily commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Walsall, Redditch, Smethwick, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Bilston, Willenhall, West Bromwich, Oldbury, Wednesbury, Nuneaton, Dudley, Sutton Coldfield, Bromsgrove, Tamworth, Bourneville, Digbeth, Erdington, Perry Barr and the surrounding areas.

Please note: The role is a Night Shift role worked on a scheduled 4 week shift rotation with the enhancement of Hybrid working

Role Responsibility

You as a Distribution Coordinator will work cross-functionally within our Team; this will primarily include the day-to-day communications with our customers to provide the ‘face’ of Tarmac.

Your role as a Distribution Coordinator will include (not exhaustive):

• Ensure ownership on all your customer relationships, via telephone and email, this will be with our customers, suppliers and local teams; including drivers
• Ensure you are providing each and every contact with an enjoyable service experience, by providing a high level of customer care and attention at all times
• Complete data entry and processing; you will maintain data entry protocols and carefully record other information throughout your day
• Collaborate within the team to clarify facts, exchange information, or resolve enquiries and issues
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the business you're working for by identifying and taking ownership of opportunities for improvement to the processes you use, the services you will provide and the values you can add to the business
• Input of accurate customer data into the CRM system
• Accurately process all order information and respond positively and confidently to our customers' requests, orders, scheduling and planning to ensure timely delivery of orders agreed with our customers optimising cost through effective planning
• As a Distribution Coordinator, you will be developing and demonstrating industry-leading product knowledge which will help you to attain and proactively keep abreast of new trends/products in the market by attending product and vendor training, researching and even self-study
