Distribution Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Distribution Supervisor to join our friendly team in Birtley or Bellshill office.  We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility

This is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires strong leadership skills, commercial acumen, flexibility and dedication for service excellence. The successful candidate will report directly to the Distribution Manager. They will:

• Manage the day to day operations of the Aggregates and Asphalt Distribution team
• Ensuring optimum customer service
• Implementing training and skills development for the A&A distribution team
• Liaison with key customers and forward programme management
• Key link in the relationship between our contract haulage fleet and the distribution team
• Workforce planning to maintain defined levels of customer service
• Some administrative tasks

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience working as a Distribution Supervisor or experienced within fast-paced logistics, distribution, or building-materials environment.

Specific Requirements:

• Ability to work with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
• Experience of working against KPI’s and strict deadlines
• Computer literate
• Good administrative and organisational skills
• Good accuracy skills
• Effective communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to work under pressure
• Team player
• Ability to identify and address problems by developing logical solutions
