We're looking to recruit for an Electrical Apprentice commencing in September 2021 based in Birmingham.

You will study for a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification over a 3 year period. We will also provide industry – leading Health and Safety training as well as on the job training specific to your role. You will also be assigned a mentor to help coach and support you.

Role Responsibility

In this role you will be involved in several tasks, under supervision, within the Tarmac maintenance team working on the HS2 project:

  • You will ensure all plant equipment is maintained to a high standard in a timely manner
  • You will ensure production is maintained to required target levels by assessing and maintaining mobile plant when required
  • You will work closely with all members of the team, effectively carrying out preventative maintenance tasks and responding in a timely manner to any breakdown repairs as well
  • You will also be involved in Company – wide continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all work carried out is documented in line with company Health and Safety policies

The Ideal Candidate

You are expected to achieve or hold a minimum of three GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above, three of which must be Maths, English and a Science. You should be an enthusiastic team member with a natural interest in mechanics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to use your own initiative and a drive to succeed are all essential skills you will need demonstrate too.
