Electrical Engineer

We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our friendly team based at Tarmac’s brand new site in Washwood Heath in Birmingham. This is a really exciting project in Birmingham and you would benefit from being a local resident.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Assistant Site Manager, you will work collaboratively, providing an effective link between the Operations and Engineering teams. Through an effective works plan and maintenance system, you will contribute to ensuring site production is maintained to the required target levels. You will, therefore, work closely with all members of the team, effectively carrying out preventative maintenance tasks and responding in a timely manner to any breakdown repairs as well. Finally, you will contribute to ensuring high safety standards on the site and also be involved in Company – wide continuous improvement initiatives. 

The Ideal Candidate

You will need to have practical electrical skills with a keen eye for continuous improvement to help make the site successful. Therefore, experience in industrial maintenance would be beneficial, although experience in similar industries will be considered. You will also have the ability and motivation to find solutions to reoccurring maintenance issues and also the attention to detail to complete preventive maintenance inspections. 

You will also need to work in a collaborative manner and rise to challenges as this is a brand new site we are opening. You will also be curious and motivated to drive not only your development, but to help with the growth of the team too. You will also have good communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas to non – technical team members. A commitment to high safety standards, both for yourself and your team, will also help to make the site a success.  

Qualifications needed 

  • Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent 

  • IEE 17th edition qualified
