Electrical Inspector

We are currently looking for an Electrical Inspector to join our team based at Dunbar Cement Plant.

Role Responsibility

The main purpose of the role is to inspect and monitor existing electrical equipment, as well as the upkeep of legal requirements for all electrical equipment and process control instrumentation across the site. They will identify and manage the creation of work orders highlighted through inspection to the systems and electrical network, in line with technical standards, operational and safety policy and legislation.

The successful candidate will be expected to create a route of existing and new plant for inspections and report the effective remedial works through the maintenance management system. Utilising the shift electrical craft to perform first-level inspections and collating all follow-up work to be carried out.

This role is critical to effective site operations. Candidates should be aware that the nature of the role requires at times the ability to work in all weather conditions, working at height and in confined spaces.

Site operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant. This will require cover through a call out rota which will involve night working, weekend and bank holidays if necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience

  • 4 years experience in maintenance or inspection in heavy industry where process control is used extensively
  • Sound knowledge of the cement manufacturing process.
  • Able to work with direct management
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance principles and techniques.
  • Good knowledge of heavy engineering plant and equipment
  • Knowledge of Siemens PCS7 systems
  • Good knowledge of electrical networks and systems including High Voltage and Instrumentation
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools
  • Computer literacy, Maintenance Management Systems (SAP)

Qualifications

  • Time served Apprenticeship
  • HNC in Electrical / Process Control Engineering
  • IOSH as a minimum
  • BS-7671 IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition
  • C&G 2395-01 Level 3 Periodic Inspection
  • HV Switching (Authorised Person)
