Engineering Manager

We are currently looking for a Engineering Manager to join our team based at Aberthaw Cement Plant near Barry.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Engineering Manager, you will be part of the Senior Management Team at Aberthaw Cement Plant and will be responsible for delivering the plant goals and execution of the plant strategy.   

The suitable candidate will be a suitability qualified and experienced Engineering Manager who will manage all aspects of the Engineering Department, ensuring compliance with HSE and operational requirements of the plant.   

You will also be responsible for training, development, and succession planning of the Engineering Team (Mechanical, Electrical, Procurement, Projects & Early Careers populations). 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Engineering Manager will have 5 – 10 years experience working in a similar level role as well as:  

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering   
  • Understanding of engineering principles   
  • Understanding of management and business principles 
  • Candidates should have cement, or similar heavy industry experience   
  • Communication, influence and negotiation skills 
  • Budget control expertise 
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory and legal bodies  
  • Excellent personal organisation  
  • Dynamic and flexible approach to working
