We are currently looking for an experienced Finance Director to join our Executive Leadership Team.

Role Responsibility

The Finance Director provides leadership on all financial, technology and legal aspects of Riney’s strategy, proactively drives and challenges business performance and ensures appropriate organisational governance.

They also have overall responsibility for the strategic direction and delivery of financial reporting and oversight of the IT and Legal functions. In addition, they are responsible for proactively analysing and implementing best practice recommendations to maximise overall profitability, aligned with our parent company Tarmac/CRH’s goals and values.

The Finance Director is a key member of the JB Riney Leadership Team and Tarmac Finance Team.

Key tasks and responsibilities include

  • Providing ongoing strategic evaluation and challenge of business performance and business opportunities to drive value creation and develop a long-term sustainable profitable business.
  • Responsible for achieving all relevant financial performance targets e.g. EBITDA/RONA/OCF & providing insightful financial information to drive short & long-term decision-making
  • Developing and nurturing talent to ensure current & future business performance
  • Actively participating in all Leadership team driven strategic projects
  • Delivery on multi-year finance strategy including fostering a continuous process improvement culture across the team
  • Oversight of IT strategy and programme delivery together with leadership of team
  • Formulation of accurate annual budgets, forecasts and other financial information, aligned to Tarmac/CRH Group in relation to values, targets, execution, reporting and initiative management
  • Leading the delivery of timely and accurate financial statements, internal & external audits
  • Leading the delivery of cost effective & efficient transactional services & working capital management.
  • Ensuring that financial records and statements comply with regulatory requirements and appropriate governance measures are in place, successful delivery of internal & external audits
  • Insurance/ risk management

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a fully-qualified ACA / ACCA / ACMA Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, coupled with extensive leadership experience at executive level.  

  • Proven ability of leading, managing & inspiring finance and other business service teams. 
  • Strong understanding of a global matrix business. 
  • Able to handle high levels of pressure, make business critical decisions on a timely basis and maintain stakeholder relationships while driving change.
  • Providing visible leadership and embedding a culture of inclusion.
  • Have a strong external network & be able to provide business insights and transformational ideas.
  • Facilitate the flow of information, promote business interests, enhance the reputation of JB Riney and its products and contribute to shaping industry developments.
