We are currently recruiting for a Finance Graduate to join Tarmac Finance Team based at our offices in Solihull, close to Birmingham Airport in the West Midlands. This role is commutable by either car or train from Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Hinkley, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Stourbridge, Oldbury, West Bromwich, Walsall, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Lichfield, Aldridge, Willenhall, Kenilworth, Warwick, Royal Leamington Spa and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

This is an amazing opportunity to work in our innovative Finance team. At Tarmac our Finance function plays a key role in running our business. As a Finance Graduate you will get exposure to different business and finance functions, whilst studying for your ACCA or CIMA qualifications – a great option to learn as you earn!​ This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to start out a career in Finance and learn the ropes from the ground up. You will play an important role in keeping UK infrastructure moving. An exciting role where you can see the output of your hard work all around you (quite literally!)​

Throughout your time as a Finance Graduate you will conduct a number of rotations though different departments which will be tailored towards your strengths and interests. This means that you will be exposed to many different areas of Finance where you will be able to apply the knowledge you gain from your professional qualification.

A typical day working as a Finance Graduate may include:​

• Building a strong understanding of the core purpose of the Finance function by getting involved varied activities to include monthly reporting and budgeting
• Establishing and leading relationships with the business and finance communities
• Supporting the business to make the right decisions to improve profitability, customer experience and drive business performance
• Working to partner the business to set targets and reporting on performance, ​using various systems and software to perform a wide variety of analysis
• Whilst you’re learning on the job, you’ll attend our Graduate core Skills Development Programme designed to expand your business knowledge, strengthen core skills and offer networking opportunities with other graduates and key stakeholders across the Tarmac business in order to successfully transition into your destination role​
• We’ll also fund your level  ACCA or CIMA qualification, ensuring you receive professional recognition for the work you’ll be putting in!​
• You’ll play an important role in driving a positive culture, challenging us when something doesn’t feel right, or where there are opportunities to improve our safety performance
• Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed​!
• At Tarmac, safety is our No.1 priority, you work safely, and you go home safely at the end of the day

Key Colleagues you will liaise with in this role:

• Business Managers – HR Teams – Operational Teams – Health & Safety Team - Industry Bodies – Customers

Ideally you will hold a full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points as you will have the opportunity of visiting other sites

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful for this role the ideal candidate for the position of Finance Graduate will have, or be able to demonstrate:

ESSENTIAL Qualification

• A Degree that you followed your passion in
• Willing to visit / work in different locations across UK and Ireland (and international assignments in the future)

DESIRABLE Skills

• Organisational, Communication and Analytical skills
• Passionate about working safely
• Motivated and loves a challenge
• Enthusiastic about starting a career in the financial sector of the construction, manufacturing and production industry!
