Finance Systems Analyst

We are currently looking for a Finance Systems Analyst to join our team at our Head Office in Solihull. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
The purpose of this role is to ensure effective delivery of relevant application services by leveraging specialist knowledge. This role translates business requirements into functional specifications and effective, efficient and compliant business solutions. It works on business change projects but also delivers smaller change packages via the enhancement process.
Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Finance Systems Manager you will be responsible for:
- Working as a subject matter expert for a relevant defined application and functional scope on business projects in line with business strategy
- User requirements and solution options
- Owning enhancements and project tasks translating functional requirements into solution design, build, test (coordinating UAT) and deployment
- Working on agreed projects and changes within the agreed time limits
- Building solutions that comply right first time by design; possesses basic understanding of GDPR, SOX and GISP
- Providing expert second-line support to IT users in line with agreed SLAs
- Investigating incidents and identifies and mobilises resources required to aid resolution, escalates SLA breaches
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in the Change Management process
- Vendor liaison to support service delivery to agreed SLAs
- Supporting the incident root cause analysis process, Initiates problem management.
- Supporting continuous process improvement
- Ensuring compliance with Internal Control processes and procedures.
- Providing specialist application and solution support for specific elements of the applications estate
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will possess:
Qualifications/Experience:
- Educated to degree standard or able to demonstrate appropriate significant and relevant experience in a similar role.
- ITIL certified/trained Accredited by relevant software vendors (where available)
- SAP FICO configuration and support experience although it is not essential
Skills:
- Effective communication skills both technical and non-technical
- Supports innovative thinking
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels both internally and externally
- Adept at defining and building system solutions from business requirements
- Creative systems design and rigorous implementation
- Problem analysis and solving
- Adept at producing high quality documentation
- Process orientation - capable of quality process mapping
