Surfacing Foreman

We are currently looking for a Surfacing Foreman to join our fantastic team based at the Bellshill site, near Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. This role is easily accessible from Glasgow as well as Paisley, Kirkintilloch, Bearsden, Hamilton, Strathaven, Bathgate and even from Stirling or the west of Edinburgh.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, as Surfacing Foreman you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing and assisting with the operation of the Road Planer
• Monitoring and overseeing the Crew on site
• Undertaking level control and operating various Planing equipment in a safe manner in accordance with on-site rules
• Liaising with the Client Representative and Site Supervisor to agree on the best way to safely undertake the Planing works required
• Carrying out planning operations safely and to the highest standard, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction
• Carrying out multiple roles on site; including recording plant details/hours worked on site, measures, loads, potential risks etc.
• Adhering to onsite Health and Safety regulations at all times

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in the role of Surfacing Foreman you will ideally have Surfacing Foreman experience within a similar role and industry. You will also:

• Have experience of working with and overseeing operations of teams
• Have experience of operating road planing equipment
• Be flexible in your working approach
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Be motivated and able to work within set timeframes
• Have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
• Be compliant of Health and Safety policies and procedures and encourage others to do the same
