We're now recruiting for a Ganger to join our team at our site in Porthmadog, Gwynedd.
Role Responsibility
As a Ganger, you'll be responsible for co-ordinating and supervising the work within their own gang and be ensuring that all work is carried out safely to a high quality and to programme.
This involves briefing method statements to the gang, carrying out checks on plant and equipment and ensuring permits are in place.
On a day to day basis, the successful Ganger's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Operating and promoting safe working within gang in line with company standards
- Ensuring all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and that they have been briefed to gang and understood
- Ensure that a Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) is in place
- Discuss any changes or amendments to method statements with Site Foreman/Works Manager
- Carry out checks on all plant and equipment
- Forward plan work activities
- Ensure supervision of the gang at all times
- Ensure our people work to the Griffiths values and respect the public and their surroundings
- Don’t leave gang unsupervised, if the need to leave arises, stop the work and contact the Site Foreman/Works Manager
- Ensure the completion of works is on time
- Implement best practice procedures within the gang
- Ensure all permits are in place and signed before work commences
- Communicate with Site Foreman/Works Manager regarding equipment and material needs at an early stage
- Feedback to site management on any plant no longer required
- Ensure a safe system of work used on unloading of any plant or materials
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be someone who has previous supervisory/ganger experience and is looking for a fresh challenge.
