We are currently looking for an experienced General Manager to head up our Norfolk Highways Services.

Role Responsibility
The General Manager is responsible for current and future term contracting opportunities in the South region. Working with the leadership team to develop, engage, and deliver strategic term maintenance opportunities to grow the highway services business in the South East.
As part of this role, you will be named Service Director specifically for the TMC contract in Norfolk. Providing support to the leadership team, guidance and direction to ensure that all stated objectives, aims and targets are achieved, you will ensure that the team maximise financial returns (including profit, cash, capex) and ensure full compliance with safety and business policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the strategic management of the Norfolk Contract
- Delivery against budgeted targets
- Leading on the strategic development of the THS South region to continue to identify, pursue and deliver on new opportunities for TMC
- Take a strategic lead to monitor and improve business integration in the area, and an outlet for Tarmac products and services.
- Delivery of contract KPI’s to maximise the length of the service.
- Drive the Area Operational Strategy, ensuring that all operational activities comply with safety and business policies and procedures and are delivered within the required budget
- Drive the effective management of any exposure to both financial and contractual risk, maximising financial return on all contracts and ensuring prompt cash collection within contract provisions
- Develop & maintain key customer relationships.
- Work closely with internal and external supply to reduce delays and costs incurred through delivery patterns.
- To drive performance improvements and share best practice across the business
- Effective management and coaching of all direct reports and drive full employee engagement.

Experience
- Background to support vision of success coupled with a strong understanding of the systems and processes required to measure / benchmark success
- Commercial & operational experience
- Managerial experience – requirement for experience in successfully leading and developing team
- Term maintenance experience
