We are currently looking for an Asphalt Plant Operative to join our team at the Tarmac Barrasford Quarry in Hexham. This is a great role that is easily accessible from Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Morpeth and Consett.

Role Responsibility
Reporting to our Asphalt Plant Supervisor, the role of Asphalt Plant Operative is a varied, complex and rewarding position. As Asphalt Plant Operative you will be responsible for:
- Daily production of Asphalt through control systems
- Carrying out maintenance checks on different pieces of plant across the site
- Assisting in the maintenance regime of the Plant
- Ensuring that plant availability is maximised
- Inspections on the plant and acting on defects and implement remedial action
- Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Carrying out general housekeeping around plant areas
- Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Adhering to SHE policies and procedures to ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance
- Ensuring Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the role of Asphalt Plant Operative you will ideally have experience of working in a mobile plant maintenance operator role, although training can be provided. As Asphalt Plant Operative you will also:
- Be able to effectively work independently as well as support colleagues working as part of a team
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Be well organised and able to work within set timeframes
- Be flexible in their working approach
- Be adaptable to work nightshifts and weekends
- Demonstrate a can do attitude and have the ability to think for yourself
- Be hard working and willing to develop and learn new skills
- Have a good, positive attitude towards compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental policies
- Hold a full UK driving Licence
