General Operative

We are currently looking for a General Operative to join our friendly team based in Barrasford, Hexham.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager, you will be responsible, for Managing the induction of Contractors to site as well as all admin tasks, Raising purchase requestions, Managing order numbers and deliveries, updating the sites SHE management systems as well as weighbridge cover, knowledge of SAP and Appollo would be preferred but not essential. This is not a fully officed based roll, as the contractors have been inducted you will need to follow this up by being out and about on site checking that all clearances and safety documentations is in place and being adhered to.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous General Operative experience gained within a fast-paced environment.

• Computer skills are essential for this post, eg Word/Excel, outlook
• Have knowledge of the industry and ideally of quarrying
• Be flexible
• Be self-motivated
• Be able to work as part of an effective team and motivate others
• Have knowledge of Risk Assessments
• Have knowledge of SSOW (HIRA) and Permit systems (preferred but not essential)
• Be compliant and engage with company policies, targets, goals and standards
