General Operative

We are currently looking for a General Operative to join our team in Higham, Kentford, CB8 7QT. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds. 

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Unit Manager you will working as part of the site production team and will be responsible for: 

• Ensuring daily tasks are completed including general site housekeeping and basic maintenance  

• The safe and efficient operation of mobile (loading shovel) and fixed plant 

• Other duties including assisting with site maintenance projects 

• Adhering to on-site Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will ideally have worked within a similar working environment. You will also: 

• Ideally have knowledge of Aggregate and Asphalt products 

• Have knowledge and experience of Health and Safety policies and procedures at work 

• Have shovel loader/telehandler/ 360 excavator experience (required) 

• Possess numeracy and literacy skills 

• Be able to work independently and as part of a team 

• Be motivated 

• Be flexible in your working approach
