Graduate - Electrical Engineer

Role Responsibility

What might my 2 year programme entail? 

  • You will report to the maintenance manager and form part of the Cement Team.  

  • An opportunity to build on your academic achievements with development that will provide both practical and formal training. You’ll gain knowledge, understanding and practical application of all safety policies, procedures and practices relevant to the role and be active in leading and driving safety standards and improvements.  

  • Gain experience of using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to carry out day-to-day fault finding and repair / maintenance of equipment, while being proactive in finding permanent solutions to engineering problems.  

  • You will be involved in root cause failure analysis to understand the associated costs and business impacts resulting from plant un-planned downtime. Understand the maintenance strategy of - inspection, planning, scheduling and execution of tasks, taking ownership and accountability for ensuring the work is completed safely and to the correct quality standards.  

  • You will play a key role in specific projects, based around improving plant reliability and achieving reductions in energy consumption by working in a collaborative style with key stakeholders to achieve common goals. Support installation of new plant equipment from conception to operation.  Prevent downtime due to control system faults and in the event of any failures participate in root cause analysis to ensure no repeats occur. 

  • Develop knowledge and understanding in assuring integration of new systems into plant operations. 

  • Gain an understanding of the legislative requirements of the electrical team in ensuring plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with all safety and environmental standards.  

  • You will also gain a detailed understanding of cement manufacture and production via a dedicated international technical programme. It is a unique opportunity, offering challenging assignments in multi-cultural environments, working abroad, and working with experienced colleagues who share their expertise.  

You will gain a good appreciation of automation programming of SCADA systems which control equipment through sensors, devices and PLCs.  

  • You will learn how to use PLC inputs and outputs to fault find missing data and signals. 

You will also be required to travel internationally.
