HR Manager - Corporate Functions

We are looking for an enthusiastic HR Manager to join our team to play a key part in the management and delivery of a comprehensive HR service to our Corporate Functions including Finance, HR, HSE, Sustainability, Strategy and Land & Natural Resources within the Birmingham area, this role will support local and national teams with around 500 employees.

The preferred base location will be in the Midlands, and the position will include national travel, to meet the requirements of the role’s remit.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Senior HR Manager, the role of HR Manager will be responsible for providing a high-level and commercially focussed HR service to senior management teams within Corporate Functions.

Key Responsibilities for the successful candidate in the role of HR Manager:

  • Ensure compliance with employment law and company policies and procedures at all times
  • Support the Resourcing Team to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce, i.e. right people in the right place at the right time
  • Promote and instil a culture of consistency, equality, and fairness in our handling of employee relations matters
  • Provide coaching and support to the management team to create an enabling and engaging culture
  • Provide and analyse relevant HR KPI data as required by the Senior HR Manager, Head of HR and functions
  • Absence and performance management for the specified area
  • Co-ordinate the annual performance review process and other such tasks required as part of the annual HR cycle
  • Partner with our Reward Team and your peer group to ensure a consistent and fair approach to salaries and T&Cs

The role of HR Manager will not only play a key part within Corporate Functions but will also be part of a National HR Team, ensuring that through collaborative working that best practice is shared and the wider Tarmac people agenda is driven forward.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of HR Manager will have proven experience of delivering a comprehensive HR service, preferably within Corporate Functions, working within a fast-paced environment, as well as being able to communicate and interact at mid to senior levels, challenging or supporting as appropriate. As a suitable candidate it is likely you will have performed a HR Business Partner or HR management role previously, and now be looking for your next career challenge.

Your background does not necessarily have to be from the same industry as we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
