HS2 BBV JV Commercial Contract Manager

We are currently looking for a Contract Commercial Manager to join our HS2 team based out of our head office in Solihull with frequent travel across the West Midlands. 

Role Responsibility

This is an exciting new role which is being introduced to manage the whole commercial & contractual process for Tarmac’s HS2 contracts in the Midlands. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a rare opportunity to devise and implement the commercial and financial processes that will ensure the contract is managed in the most efficient and profitable manner possible. The main focus is on commercial management oversight through complex monthly reporting and performance management, with particular emphasis on pricing, billing and KPI performance. You will be the essential link between the distribution, logistics, technical and operations teams within Tarmac, but also the vital coordination point for the 2 Joint Ventures working on this project (Balfour Beatty Vinci & Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM), dealing with any queries or complaints that arise. You will also have responsibility for a small team, who you will need to recruit and manage. You will be a key influencer within the HS2 management team in the central region.  

The Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will need commercial experience. Some financial exposure would also be beneficial, although not necessarily in the concrete or construction industries. You will also have excellent organisational skills to help you translate your creative ideas into structured and systematic processes. You will be an experienced Excel user at an advanced level and have good attention to detail. You will also be a confident influencer used to collaboration with diverse audiences and to finding solutions to overcome barriers whilst maintaining productive, longer term, relationships.
