Our HR function plays a key role in running our business and we have an Higher Apprentice HR Advisor opportunity to join our team based primarily from our Solihull Tarmac Hub Offices close to Birmingham Airport in the West Midlands.

From day one you’ll receive huge amounts of role variety, exposure, the opportunity to get stuck in to the day-to-day challenges of HR, whilst working on lots of exciting forward-thinking projects - being supported to develop and ‘learn your craft’ while you earn!
This is a hybrid working role working in office, at home and also across our sites. On days you are required to be based in office, this role is commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Bedworth, Kenilworth, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Lichfield, Cannock, Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Hinkley, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Worcester, and the surrounding areas.

A typical day working as an Higher Apprentice HR Advisor may include:
Role Responsibility
Activities may include:
- Rotating through the different HR departments to gain an understanding of HR (Talent, L&D, I&D, HR Ops, Reward).
- Working with HR team members on a day to day to ensure compliance with employment law and company policies and procedures at all times.
- Advising line managers and Operational HR Teams on HR Policies that fall within Talent, Reward, Payroll, HR Admin, Learning and Development and Inclusion and Diversity.
- Supporting on various different projects that link with the Tarmac People Agenda, such as Talent, Training and Learning and Development projects.
- Collecting and analysing data to assist the Operational HR team to draw insights.
- Contributing to the wider HR team by sharing and collaborating with colleagues.
- Support HR training and coaching practices.
We’ll also fund your CIPD level 3 (or level 5 depending on experience) qualification ensuring that you get professional accreditation for the hard work you’ll put in! Tarmac funds your studies. The Ideal Candidate
You’ll certainly be a team player and have a keen interest in HR. Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:
Required qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent), A-C or numbered equivalent (9-4) including English and Maths.
- A Levels (or Equivalent), A-C in at least 2 subjects
