We are currently looking for a IT Systems Engineer to join the team at our Head Offices in Abergavenny. Due to the nature of the role, we are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Penarth, Barry, Porthcawl, Neath, Usk, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanfoist, Bristol, Chepstow, Pontypridd.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Systems Engineer will be undertaking a variety of duties which will include managing Microsoft and Azure Active Directory and MDM solutions.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the IT Systems Engineer will include the following (not exhaustive):

• Managing Hyper-V infrastructure
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting network problems
• Managing and maintaining backups, replications and recovery procedures
• Supporting and designing Office 365 infrastructure and solutions
• Empowering teams to work collaboratively and efficiently
• Providing 3rd line and senior support for complex issues
• Working closely with third-party support companies and suppliers to resolve issues promptly
• Maintaining and produce accurate IT documentation, ensuring efficient knowledge sharing
• Providing cross platform solutions to business needs and problems
• Contribute to departmental improvement plans, with a focus on automation and process enhancement
• Mentoring and assist IT support team members, fostering their professional development
• Engaging in continuous learning activities to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

The Ideal Candidate

The successful IT Systems Engineer will be able to show a sound understanding Windows Server configuration and deployment, have a knowledge of backup strategies and a strong knowledge of Hyper-V platforms.

If you have an IT qualification such as COMPTIA or CCNA, this would give priority and a working knowledge of PowerShell scripting and ERP systems from an IT perspective would also be beneficial.
