Internal Sales Representative

We are currently looking for an Internal Sales Representative to join our friendly team based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Internal Sales Manager, you will effectively build and develop relationships with existing and new customers to increase sales opportunities in order to maximise revenue growth for our services to ensure that Tarmac is the partner of choice. This will also involve:

  • Processing all customer orders received for your region and providing accurate order confirmations to the customer
  • Order accuracy – in line with business KPI’s
  • Liaising with customers requesting call-offs and recording orders on the processing system
  • Liaising with production team to ensure product availability in with agreed delivery timescales and SLA’s
  • Processing order changes and cancellations in line with the internal processes
  • Processing cash sale orders in compliance with the business rules
  • Achieving targeted ancillary sales within the region by way of upselling
  • Assisting the Internal Sales Manager in researching new business contacts
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Organising the dispatch of sample products to customers
  • Ensuring that all transactions in AX are completed in a timely manner in line with business requirements and KPI’s
  • Gathering customer feedback via monthly customer surveys
  • Acting as overflow to ensure that all incoming calls are managed
  • Collaboration with stakeholders of varying seniority levels both internal and external to the business

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience working within a similar environment with a sales background.

  • Effective use of questioning and listening to establish customer needs
  • Selling – able to create rapport through considered questioning and accurate active listening.
  • Clear and concise communication (both oral and written)
  • Demonstrate positivity and desire to succeed
  • Team player
