Key Account Manager - Packed Products
Job Introduction
We are currently looking for a National Key Account Manager (Packed Products) to join our Packed Products team. As this is a national role, your base can be close to one of our many operational sites. In this role you’ll own all aspects of developing and monitoring the strategy for a designated national customer. You will also ensure that you provide a best in class service for major national accounts, while leading in the optimization of the account to ensure best possible return for CRH. Naturally w you will work to promote a health and safety culture at all times.
Role Responsibility
In this role you will be responsible for a number of tasks including:
- Ensuring full compliance with company health and safety policy
- Developing trusting relationships with major accounts to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty
- Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
- Expand the relationships with existing customers by proactive solution delivery
- Ensure the correct products and services are delivered as requested by the customer
- Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints or escalate as required
- Play an integral part in generating new sales to develop and increase the value of the account
- Track account profitability and sales mix to ensure an optimum return for the business
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure regional adherence to plan and manage any local network issues
- Maximize profit by up-selling or cross-selling
- Planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with key stakeholders
- Deliver effective forecasting so that operational teams are clear on demand, with specific focus on key peak periods to ensure effective stock build requirements
- Support the senior commercial manager with price negotiations as required
The Ideal Candidate
It is expected that you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have demonstrable experience as follows:
- Proven track record in selling, negotiating and customer account management
- Experience of working in a customer sector, e.g. ready mix, concrete products manufacture an advantage along with a sound appreciation and understanding of the market
- Cement/Concrete technical experience (achieving Diploma in Advanced Concrete Technology expected)
- Proven experience of working within a national sales team and experience of working with cross-functional disciplines
- Self-motivated with well-developed presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
- Results orientated and proven networking and relationship building skills
- Familiarity and compliance with competition and bribery legislation
- Skilled at time management and planning
- Nationally mobile
- Proven IT skills in Office365
