LGV Driver C+E Low Loader

We have a fantastic opportunity for an LGV Driver C+E Low Loader to join our team at our Head Offices in Abergavenny. Due to the nature of the role, we are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Penarth, Barry, Porthcawl, Neath, Usk, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanfoist, Bristol, Chepstow, Pontypridd.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, the LGV Driver C+E Low Loader will be driving to transport heavy plant and equipment to various construction sites, surfacing projects and general road maintenance projects across the UK.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the LGV Driver C+E Low Loader will include the following (not exhaustive):

  • Being responsible for a low-loader; ensuring it is inspected daily and reporting defects
  • Transporting loads in STGO environment transporting abnormal loads under escort
  • Using delivery systems via tablet for work to be allocated and confirmed
  • Securing loads correctly; ensuring loads are safe for transport
  • Having nights out in the sleeper cab to maximise utilisation
  • Compiling with RAMS for all duties
  • Communicating with other team members and with site teams with regards to deliveries and collections
  • Managing driving and working time in accordance with all regulations

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a LGV Driver C+E Low Loader who is experienced in the following:

  • LGV C+E License
  • Previous experience in transporting plant equipment
  • A valid Digital Tacho Card
  • A valid CPC Qualification Card
  • Experience with Abnormal loads under STGO guidelines
  • Experience in securing plant and equipment

Although not essential, having STGO CAT2 experience and Plant Operator qualifications would also be beneficial.
