Laboratory Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to join our fantastic team based at Aberthaw Cement Plant, Barry.

Role Responsibility

As the sucesfull candidate, you will be responsible for accurate analysis within the statutory legislation and the internal company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and performance to achieve the plant and departmental KPI’s and objectives for safety, housekeeping, environment,quality, production and costs.

You will be involved in regular testing and analysis of samples including final product (mill and dispatch cements), kiln feed, and water etc. using physical and chemical testing and instrumental (e.g. XRF/XRD) techniques.

As a part of this role, you will also be required to undertake routine calibration of laboratory equipment and be able to understand and communicate the results & take responsibility to ensure all testing meets the required internal and external standards.

Plant operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant. This may involve night working, weekend and Bank holidays and being on call if necessary

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience working as a Laboratory Supervisor gained within an Industrial Laboratory enviroment or similar. As well as possess good communication, IT knowledge and have a real desire in developing your skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry required or equivalent experience
