Role Responsibility

We're looking to recruit for Logistics Management Higher Apprentice commencing in September 2021 based at our Tunstead Cement Works in Derbyshire. The training will take the form of a Modern Apprenticeship (3 years) and will lead to a formal qualification of NVQ level 3 Diploma (ONC) in business and administration.

You will be able to obtain a full overview of the business through a supportive development programme and training within the Cement & Lime Logistics team, as well as developmental project work combined with attendance to college to develop a business and logistic focused academic skill set. You will provide support to the Tunstead Logistics team and the cement & lime customers; be able to develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to help the Cement Logistics team develop its planning and logistics focus.

You’ll also get involved with analytical work, as well as the development of the Logistics business to meet the needs of the market and the customers. Over the course of the programme you will learn our varied product range and the thorough quality control of the goods which are delivered to our customers. Health and Safety is a key part of the culture at Tarmac and you will be taught how this impacts everyday working life and become a role model for our high health & safety standards.  From here your career can take you as far as you want to go

The role of will be reporting to the Transport Manager and form part of the team covering Cement and Lime throughout the area

The Ideal Candidate

As our ideal Higher Apprentice, you should be an enthusiastic team member with a natural interest and aptitude for logistics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to use your own initiative and have a drive to succeed are all essential skills you’ll need demonstrate too.  You will be have 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grade 4 or above

80 UCAS points or equivalent.
