HOLD - Maintenance Fitter (Nights)

We are currently looking for an Maintenance Fitter to join our friendly team working on night shifts.

Role Responsibility
The successful candidate will get a shift allowance plus a company van.
A typical day working for Packed Products as the Maintenance Fitter will include:
Improving the safety, quality and productivity standards on site – I will be responsible for my own and my team's safety in accordance with current health and safety regulations
Engaging in preventative and reactive maintenance across site and working in close unison with machine setters to optimise production output
Completing all maintenance inspections (PPM’S) and routines as scheduled, including recording and reporting aligned to best in class performance as per skills matrix
Logically prioritise planned and unplanned maintenance activities to maximise the machine Availability loss within OEE
Working collaboratively with operational personnel to maximise machine throughput and reliability
Using recognised fault diagnosis techniques to determine root cause and affect a sustained countermeasure to eliminate repeat failures – Plan, Do, Check, Act
Analysing KPI data to optimise performance and reliability through the implementation of robust improvement processes
Completing all documentation relating to safety, performance, availability and quality requirements within nominated timescales
Managing spares inventory to ensure availability and suggest/implement improvements to the stock management process
Ensuring housekeeping and visual standards are maintained across all production areas in line with health and safety, CI objectives and 5S requirements – being proud of your equipment and working environment
Becoming an Expert machine operator across all machine types
Delivering localised training commensurate with the production operation; transferring skills, knowledge and behaviours to peers, acting as a lead trainer and mentor for future succession planning. The key is the continuous assessment of training delivered to maintain best in class performance
Adhering to all company rules and policies and showing leadership to positively challenge behaviours and actions that do not meet the Tarmac standards
Maintaining high levels of work performance including attendance, timekeeping and taking pride in your role, both individually and collectively
The Ideal Candidate
The following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:
Time-served electrical/multi-skilled engineering maintenance technician
Minimum Level III (NVQ/BTEC/C&G)
Relevant mechanical qualification
Control systems qualification (Siemens S5/S7)
Relevant H&S qualification
Experience in a high-volume, automated environment
Experience, multi-site maintenance role
Maintenance of relevant machines & equipment
Proficient in the use of RCA processes and the implementation of robust countermeasures
Planning, organising, recording & reporting work activities
Developing and following Risk Assessments, SSoW & Method Statements
