Major Projects Manager

We are currently looking for a Major Projects Manager to join our team in our Tarmac. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

You'll work within a busy environment playing a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious sales and customer service targets mainly through telephone communication, identifying upstream lead generation.

Role Responsibility

As part of the Commercial Management team this role will work will key stakeholders and provide management of key projects within the region, that will drive significant value to the overall business. The role will look at both securing these key projects and gaining insight from the market for the business to ensure that all opportunities are taking, as appropriate. Leading the coordination and development of bid submissions to secure work on major projects that increase revenue and profit above Tarmac’s business as usual expectations.

The Ideal Candidate

• Identify potential schemes which require high volumes of Tarmac products
• Recommend projects that are best suited to Tarmac or will help the business to grow. Reject those with unreasonable risk or low chances of success. 
• Help to position Tarmac as a key partner with selected customers.
• Identify strategic fixed assets and suggest new/mobile assets to support increased revenue.
• Produce quality and pricing documents that differentiate Tarmac.
• Create and maintain a network of contacts who are influencers on major projects.
• Identify health and safety risks for unusual activities and support the operational teams to develop mitigation measures.
• Produce insightful and concise management reports for the Commercial Director and local management teams
