Marine Safety Coordinator

Help drive safety across our marine operations – from vessel to shore
Play a key role in shaping a positive safety culture and operational excellence

We’re looking for a Marine Safety Coordinator to support our Marine HSE Manager in ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of our fleet.

This role will coordinate health, safety, environmental and quality activities across vessels and shore-based operations (Dry Dock), helping to promote a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, company standards and industry best practice.

Working closely with vessel crews and shore-based teams, you’ll support continuous improvement in safety performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Monitor compliance with company safety procedures and maritime regulations
  • Assist with incident, accident and near-miss investigations, tracking corrective actions
  • Coordinate safety inspections and audits, ensuring timely completion of actions
  • Maintain safety records, reports and performance statistics
  • Support risk assessments and safe working procedures
  • Coordinate safety training, drills and awareness campaigns
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and audits
  • Promote a positive safety culture across all operations
  • Monitor environmental performance and support pollution prevention initiatives
  • Undertake additional duties within the scope of the role

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in the maritime, shipping or marine sector
  • Knowledge of marine health and safety practices
  • Understanding of risk assessments and incident reporting
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vessel crews and shore-based teams
  • Willingness to travel to vessels and operational sites

Desirable

  • Experience conducting audits or inspections
  • Previous sea going or marine operational experience
