Mechanical Inspector

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join our friendly team at Dunbar Cement Plant.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Mechanical Inspector you will be responsible for:

• Measuring and monitoring equipment condition, analysing trends and identifying the needs of rectification work from the maintenance team.
• Raising work orders giving the correct priority to ensure repairs or further investigations are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
• Continuously improving the inspection process and job plans using new technologies and OEM data where available.
• Proactive in promoting safety on the Cement Plant and wider Dunbar site.
• Maintaining in depth knowledge of the condition of all plant equipment on a continuous basis. 
• Evaluating and improving the preventive maintenance job plans, creating and updating the corresponding inspection job plans.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Mechanical Inspector will have an excellent safety background with knowledge of RA, method statements, permits and isolation procedures. They will also have experience of:

• Mechanical qualification such as modern apprenticeship to HNC level or other relevant qualifications
• Strong understanding of equipment safety isolation procedures
• Strong understanding of plant operating principles
• Maintenance or inspection experience within cement or similar process industry is essential.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar
• Experience within cement industry or similar heavy industry work
