Mobile Crusher Operative

We are currently looking to recruit a Mobile Crusher Operative to join our team based in Cardiff Docks.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Recycling Manager, the purpose of the job will be to operate mobile plant and crushing equipment within the company safety, environmental and quality standards. This will include the manufacture of recycled aggregate and other similar products as per the requirement of the Recycling Department. Associated activities including inspection, routine maintenance and reporting of defects.

As a Mobile Crusher Operative, you will be accountable for tasks such as operating mobile plant to the Company standards, carrying out Mobile Plant Inspections and reporting of all identified defects to name a few.

On a day to day basis, the successful candidate's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)

  • Ensuring all equipment used is inspected and safe to operate.  

  • Reporting any Near Misses and safety issue where they may be present.  

  • Where an activity is seen to present a serious Health and safety or environmental risk it work must be stopped and reported immediately. 

  • Ensuring all plant and equipment are used efficiently and to design.  

  • Following all safety rules including site PPE requirements signing, Traffic and pedestrian routes. Working to all risk assessments and method statements provided. 

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this position, it is essential that any prospective candidates are in receipt of the following:

  • MPQC or Equivalent operating Licence for 360 Excavator above and/or Loading shovel  
  • MPQC or Equivalent operating Licence for Mobile Crusher and Screening plant 

  • CSCS HS and E 

  • Experience working within Construction or Extractives industry 

Although not essential, if you are in receipt of any of the following, this would be beneficial in your application:

  • SSSTS 

  • NVQ Mobile plant operations 

  • NVQ Mobile crushing plant operations 

  • Experience working within the waste industry
