We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mobile Plant Operative to join Griffiths. We are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Cardiff, Penarth, Rumney, St Mellons, Newport, Caerleon, Caldicot, Chepstow, Cwmbran, Usk, Raglan, Pontypool, Abergavenny, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr Tydfil, Pontypridd, Pontyclun.
Role Responsibility
As a Mobile Plant Operative, you will report to the Recycling Manager and on a day-to-day basis, the successful Mobile Plant Operative duties and responsibilities will include (not exhaustive) the following:
- Operating mobile plant to the Company standards
- Carrying out Mobile Plant Inspections, ensuring all equipment used is inspected and safe to operate
- Greasing and routine maintenance of mobile plant and crushing equipment
- Reporting all defects to the Supervisor or Manager
- Conforming to all company and site procedures
- Working to the Company guidelines and upholding the safety culture set out by Alun Griffiths Contractors
- Reporting any Near Misses and safety issue where they may be present
- Where an activity is seen to present a serious Health and Safety or Environmental risk, work must be stopped and reported immediately
- Ensure all plant and equipment are used efficiently and to design
- Following all safety rules including site PPE requirements signing, Traffic and pedestrian routes
- Working to all risk assessments and method statements provided
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Mobile Plant Operative who ideally has an MPQC or Equivalent operating Licence for 360 Excavator above and/or Loading shovel a CSCS card and has experience working within Construction or Extractives industry. Although not essential, if you have an NVQ in Mobile Plant or Mobile Crushing Plant operations, this would be highly beneficial.
