We’re recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative to join our Mountsorrel Asphalt Plant, ideally located for candidates commuting from Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray and surrounding areas.

This role offers real variety, structured training, and development opportunities within a busy operational environment. Previous asphalt or plant experience is beneficial but not essential - we’re more interested in your attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in the safe, efficient day‑to‑day running of the Asphalt Plant, contributing to production targets and high-quality outputs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Mixing asphalt to specification
• Working collaboratively to deliver quality materials and on‑time customer deliveries
• Weighbridge operations
• Operating mobile plant including loading shovel
• Supporting Supervisors with daily and weekly production targets
• Carrying out inspections, identifying defects and implementing remedial actions
• Assisting with planned and reactive plant maintenance
• Ensuring housekeeping standards are consistently high
• Actively promoting and operating to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys operational responsibility and being part of a production-focused team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates with experience in industrial, factory, manufacturing or similar operational environments, and from those who want to develop their technical and supervisory skills over time.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience or interest in plant or mobile machinery operations
• Shovel licence (desirable but not essential)
• A flexible, team‑focused approach
• Motivation, good timekeeping and strong work ethic
• Clear communication skills and confidence to escalate issues when needed
• IT literacy
• Full UK Driving Licence
