We are currently seeking a National Skills and Safety Park Manager to join our team at our award-winning National Skills and Safety Park, Nether Langwith, Nottinghamshire. The role forms part of our forward thinking and high performing Learning and Development team. This is a unique opportunity to help set the standard across our organisation as we continue to successfully evolve and support our teams whilst also driving innovation and sustainable growth across Tarmac. This role is easily accessible from Worksop, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Newark-on-Trent, Ripley, Matlock, Sheffield, Nottingham, Rotherham, Doncaster and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

The role of National Skills and Safety Park Manager is a varied, complex and rewarding position. As well as overall responsibility for the Safety, Health and Welfare of all on site and the day to day running of the National Skills and Safety Park facility you will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all equipment and areas are maintained to Tarmac standards, procedures and or legislative requirements and maximising training delivery at the Park
  • Leading and managing a team who will deliver the internal operational training across all business units
  • Building strong relationships with all stakeholders across our business units to gain their commitment to the programmes
  • Communicating and co-ordinating with operations teams to ensure consistency of attitude & minimum competency in skills and knowledge is maintained
  • All SHE policies and procedures are implemented and maintained across the site
  • NS&SP complies with all planning conditions that for part of our permissions
  • Statutory inspections are carried out in the required timescales and resulting actions resolved in a timely manner

 

The Ideal Candidate

Suitable candidates for the role of National Skills and Safety Park Manager may currently be working as Production Manager within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment. You may perhaps be a Training Manager with an operational background. The focus of the role of National Skills and Safety Park Manager is effectively managing the site as well as a small team responsible for operational training across the organisation. Suitable candidates should possess the right positive attitude and behaviours that reflect our values and be passionate about driving results, teamwork, providing good customer service.

Ideally you will already have Level 6 Safety, Health & Environment Management however this is not essential as we can support you in achieving this qualification. You should also demonstrate:

  • Ability to influence and persuade managers
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Capability to achieve goals against tight deadline
  • Management experience of operational activities
  • Experience of driving results
  • Evidence of working collaboratively
  • Ability to cultivate innovation
  • Successful track record in developing talent
