Are you a National Technical Manager in Aggregates & Asphalt looking for your next challenge? At Tarmac, we are looking for a National Technical Manager to join the team based at our T3 Head Office in Solihull.

About the Role

As the National Technical Manager, you will report into the Technical Director and be responsible for a team of two direct reports. In this position, you will support the Aggregates & Asphalt technical strategy with the Technical Director and facilitate collaboration, engagement and sharing best practice and successes whilst identifying and supporting areas for improvement to improve performance and consistency in approach across regions.

Your responsibilities in this role as a National Technical Manager will include (not exhaustive)

• Driving quality performance improvements in Aggregates & Asphalt
• Championing and communicating a clear forward-looking Technical Strategy that enhances the efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness of the A&A business
• Enabling and empowering regional teams to deliver the technical strategy through improved engagement, accountability, and performance against business KPIs.
• Strengthen Tarmac’s influence and insight by actively contributing to industry technical forums and committees
• Supporting contracting in major bid processes ensuring all suitable alternatives have been mapped and considered
• Developing and applying processes that will ensure efficient production and testing 
• Working with the R&D manager in steering the development of new products that fit with market developments & commercial opportunities for Tarmac
• Leading the national deployment of new products; ensuring consistent implementation, performance tracking, and feedback loops for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with senior regional leaders to reduce the frequency and severity of product quality complaints through improved accountability, data analysis, and process optimisation

 What we are looking for

We are looking for a National Technical Manager who is preferably educated to a bachelor’s degree level preferably in a business or technical related subject, has professional experience in technical ideally in construction markets and can demonstrate a solid understanding of technical and commercial drivers for the Aggregates & Asphalts markets.
