National Transport Manager

We are currently looking for a National Transport Manager to join our friendly team based out of Croxden but with some travel across Building Products sites in the North of England and the Midlands. The candidate must also hold a CPC qualification.

Role Responsibility
The National Transport Manager will be responsible for:
- Implementing the Logistics strategy, delivering against agreed KPI’s
- Managing and developing the Logistics team that delivers value and results for the Mortar business
- Project management, lead team activities and deliver projects on time with accurate planning and organizing, including the development of new working practices
- Conduct FORS audits, haulier inductions and truck inspections. You will additionally conduct haulier safety meetings, and monitor haulier safety performance
- Oversee the transportation and distribution of all Mortar Products
- Support the effective implementation of policies and procedures relating to regulatory impact and Safety requirements
- To implement new policies, or modify existing procedures, to minimize costs, increase accuracy, improve customer service and safety and meet product distribution needs
- Supporting the logistics team in maintaining compliance of company vehicles and drivers (tachographs, maintenance, record keeping, driver training etc)
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of National Transport Manager will have experience within a similar role as well as experience of:
- CPC qualification (essential)
- Experience of managing logistics and people
- Experience of vehicle types to meet product requirements
- Experience of developing and managing relationship with both owner driver, 3PL and directly employed drivers in a changing and challenging business environment
