We are currently recruiting for an Operations Graduate to join our operations team based at our Snodland Tarmac Plant; located close to Maidstone in Kent. This role is commutable from Maidstone, Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham, Hempstead, Sevenoaks, Orpington, Swanley, Dartford, Bromley, Tonbridge, Gravesend, Rainham, Swanley, Sittingbourne and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
As part of the UK and Ireland Operational teams, you as an Operations Graduate will participate in our 2-year graduate scheme. A typical day will give you exposure to numerous elements of our manufacturing processes and what it takes to manage our Operational teams. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to start out a career in Operations Management and learn the ropes from the ground up. You will play an important role in keeping UK infrastructure moving. An exciting role where you can see the output of your hard work all around you (quite literally!)
Key focus of Operations Graduate position, not exhaustive:
- Learn about all Operational aspects, gaining a detailed understanding via a dedicated Tarmac development programme and the CRH international programme
- Whilst your first 2 years will work at various locations, you will then be expected to gain valuable experience in areas across our UK and Ireland Cluster or participate in an exciting international assignment
- You will have the opportunity to work at our operational sites including quarries, asphalt plants, concrete plants and our building products portfolio (mortar & blocks) – product exposure will vary depending on the location of the role
- You’ll work on rotation to maximise your exposure, develop your business knowledge and share best practices within our business. If the role reports into our Operational performance function, typically your rotations will be in this team
- You’ll support Operations Managers, Engineering Managers and Maintenance in the management of their functions, learning about these roles from the ground up to give you a good basis to drive your career forward at Tarmac. This will involve taking a hands-on approach to operating mobile plant, learning production processes, keeping sites clean and safe, Health, Safety & Environmental Audits, and people management
- You will also get the opportunity to work on multiple projects, geared at improving our operational business

Key Operational Colleagues you will liaise with in this role of Operations Graduate:
- Operational Teams – Health & Safety Team – Maintenance Teams – Engineering Team - Business Managers – Area Operations Teams – HR Area Teams – Industry Bodies – Customers
ESSENTIAL – you must hold a full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points as you will have access to a company vehicle for this role in visiting other sites

To be successful for this role the ideal candidate for the position of Operations Graduate will have, or be able to demonstrate:

- A Degree that you followed your passion in
- Willing to work in different locations across UK and Ireland (and international assignments in the future)

- Organisational, Communication and Analytical skills
- Passionate about working safely
- Motivated and loves a challenge
- Enthusiastic about starting a career in the construction manufacturing and production industry!
