Operations Manager

We are currently looking for a Operations Manager to join our team based in Baggeridge, Dudley, West Midlands and you will be required to travel across the assigned Central and West Midlands region. The role is easily accessible from Wolverhampton, Dudley, Birmingham, Walsall, Shrewsbury, Stafford and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
Within this role of Operations Manager you will manage the asset portfolio to safely minimise cost and maximise cash. The role has key impacts in driving operation excellence within the business and ensuring talent is identified and developed for future succession planning. The role of Operations Manager is within our Paving Contracts division.
Operations Manager - Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering HSE performance for the area
- Contractor management and performance review
- Ensuring sites always have competent managerial cover in line with regulatory legislation
- Fixed and variable cost management and forecasts effectively
- Cost per tonne management
- Develop operational teams and succession plans within sites
- Lead, coach and mentor members of the team
- Manage investments to ensure they are delivered safely, on time and within budget
- Stock management across the sites and linking with the supply chain team on correct sourcing decisions
- Work in partnership with customer services and commercial department maximising company performance through stock management and product opportunities
- Delivery and management of area action plans to help drive improved performance
- Ensure strategic initiatives are delivered
- Support optimisation of fixed cost base
- Delivering ongoing improvements in KPI’s and cost control and supporting the fixed cost base optimisation
The Ideal Candidate
As the successful candidate for the role of Operations Manager will ideally possess proven operational management experience at the supervisory and/or managerial levels gained within Aggregates, Asphalt, Heavy Industry or similar environment.
The key to your success will be your exceptional communication skills. As an influential and persuasive leader, you will have a successful track record in managing, developing, motivating and inspiring both direct reports and people in your wider organisation to cultivate strong, engaged and competent teams.

- SHE NVQ L4 or equivalent
- Industry linked qualification such as Minerals Extractives
