Optimisation Finance Analyst - Operations

We are currently looking for an Optimisation Finance Analyst - Operations to join our friendly team based at Portland House in Solihull.

Role Responsibility
The Optimisation Analyst – Operations will support the successful implementation and delivery of the Operations workstream of the Business Optimisation Programme. This will include the creation, provision and ongoing validation of reporting on key Operations focused business initiatives to enhance Tarmac’s financial performance over the next three years. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager – Business Optimisation and as part of the wider Optimisation team the role will drive improved business performance by:
- Establishing and lead on the ongoing development and reporting of key operations initiatives, linking KPIs and performance metrics to financial performance through robust and defined methodologies on items including;
- Controllable Cost per tonne reduction / savings
- Energy and Fuel consumption efficiencies
- Materials wastage reduction, Complaints
- Stock reduction & inventory management
- Delivery of cost reduction through National and Regional Action Plans
- To build effective partner relationships and provide specialist support to the Operational Excellence team on the impact and influence of strategic decision making on Optimisation delivery; identifying risks and opportunities to targeted performance improvement, and highlighting for recognition areas of best practice and underperformance
- To support the National and Regional finance teams and Operational Directors in the understanding of performance against initiatives and benchmarking of KPIs
- Contribute to Operational Forecasting led by the National Finance team
- Provide initiative focused self help reporting and analysis tools through Excel, SAP/BW and SAP Analytics to support the delivery of revenue and margin enhancement
- Responsible for rigorous financial validation and governance to ensure full integrity and accuracy of all Operational KPIs, benefits and reporting
- Ensure compliance to group policies, processes, procedures and maintain too
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Experience
- Demonstrable finance background with relevant technical skills and analytical / accounting experience in large multi site, construction or manufacturing businesses
- Part-Qualified or Qualified accountant desirable, either formally or through experience
Skills
- High proficiency and knowledge of analytical modelling skills and techniques, utilising Excel, SAP/BW, SAP Analytics, Access/SQL and Anaplan
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build and develop relationships and networks
- A proven track record of delivery of key control information and contribution to improvement action plans
- Ability to work under pressure
