PR and External Communications Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced External Communications Manager to join our busy and friendly Communications and Corporate Affairs team at our Head Office in Solihull. Role Responsibility

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to help us protect and enhance the reputation of one of the UK’s leading construction brands.  

Working as part of a team of passionate, professional experts, you will report into the Senior Manager, External Affairs, and deliver a wide range of external communication and corporate affairs activities.  

You’ll line manage an external communications executive and work strategically to identify and deliver a range of proactive communications with stakeholders from across the business, designing and producing targeted measurable activity and campaigns for both owned and external channels. This will include b2b and wider community and public audiences. 

Maintaining a strong understanding of industry issues and opportunities in relation to Tarmac’s external reputation will be key as well as the ability to identify and manage risk, and confidently support timely responses to issues and enquiries. The role holder will be part of a rota managing the 24/7 media line. 

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone with a passion for PR, demonstrable experience in corporate communication, including digital delivery, and the creative flair and energy to help us continue to tell our story. 

An articulate self-starter with strong attention to detail and a passion for excellence, you’ll be as comfortable providing strategic communications advice to Senior Leaders as drafting and creating social media content. 

Membership of a professional body is preferred.
