Payroll Administrator (12 month FTC)

Job Introduction

Tarmac is recruiting for a Payroll Administrator for a 12 month FTC maternity cover contract who will, along with the Payroll Team, be responsible for ensuring the production of the payroll as well as responsibility for planning and organising their own workload to ensure the accurate and timely submission of weekly and monthly payrolls and associated payroll outputs including BACS, Payslips and RTI submissions.

As the successful candidate you’ll produce payroll outputs in compliance with statutory regulations and requirements (including HMRC, GDPR and SOx) and ensure all obligations, policies and procedures are met.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader you’ll be a champion for the payroll process as well as working to support your colleagues both in Payroll and the wider Reward Team.

Your previous experience will mean that you are confident in making suggestions and implementing improvements to processes to ensure that Tarmac continue to meet all necessary requirements while enhancing the payroll offering.

Role Responsibility

In this role you will be responsible for several tasks including: 

  • The accurate and timely production of weekly and monthly payrolls with any issues identified and remediated with support if required.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and reporting requirements (including HMRC, GDPR and SOx)
  • Ensuring compliance with Tarmac policies and procedures
  • Delivering effective customer focussed liaison with stakeholders and employees
  • General payroll associated administration duties including Employee Benefits; Pension, SAYE  and general support for the wider Reward Team.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be able to evidence previous experience and knowledge of working in a busy payroll department and have a demonstrable customer service approach.

Ideally, you’ll be an experienced payroll professional who is well versed with the production of payroll delivery requirements and who can develop new value adding processes where appropriate.  You should have proven communication skills as well as a collaborative approach working with a diverse audience. If you’re flexible in your approach, with an eye for detail and have the ability to identify and deliver improvements we’d like to hear from you.
